Biografia in inglese:

Alessandra Gallone got her modern dance degree in Paris at Centre Intérnational de la Danse in 1984. She continued her studies in France, United States and Canada attending dance classes with renown choreographers and dancers (Dough Varone, Sean Curran, Bebe Miller).

From 1986 until 1994 he taught modern dance at Scuola di Ballo del Teatro alla Scala (La Scala Ballet School) for eight years, working also as a choreographer (Sette più dieci, Teatro San Carlo, 1991) and assistant of Gigi Caciuleanu (Goffredo Petrassi’s Estri, Teatro alla Scala, 1993).

She teaches contemporary dance, Mid-Eastern and traditional dances of Maghreb in Milan, in regular courses as well as in workshops, seminars, summer schools (she collaborated with Pola Chapelle’s Pro-Danza Italia). Since 2000 she has been collaborating as dancer, choreographer and teacher with Elhadi Cheriffa and his company Transdanse, in Italy and France. She collaborates with osteopath Daniela Fallavena in workshops that conjugate osteopathy’s principles with movement and dance.

More recently: in Summer 2007 she has been invited to teach contemporary dance at the Aspat Dans Platformu, in Turkey. In Spring 2008 she performed as a soloist and choreographer in the show Mosaique under the direction of Elhadi Cheriffa, at the Centre Culturel Algerien in Paris, and performed in Milan and Rhodes (Greece). During the summer she gave classes of Mid-Eastern and Maghreb dances in Tilos (Greece). In November she performed The Sea’s Shadow, in Teatro della Comuna Baires, Milan, a solo work of dance and theatre.

She is currently a reviewer for the journal Dance Europe. As a dance historian and critic she worked for Italian Radio (RadioTre), Swiss Radio, and in conferences (Milan, Rhodes) and seminars. She wrote Corso di Danza Moderna (De Vecchi Editore, 1995).

Her current training as a dancer includes seminars in Mid-Eastern and Maghreb dances with Elhadi Cheriffa, ballet classes (Vaganova method) with Prisca Picano and Salvo Tarasco and dance/aikido workshops with Soraya Pérez (aikido black belt, 3° Dan).

Besides Italian, she speaks and writes fluently in English and French. She has been studying Modern Greek since five years.
